Acting President David Mabuza will tomorrow, 24 September 2018, lead the National Heritage Day Celebrations at the Riverview Stadium in Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal Province. The South African Calendar marks September as the Month of Heritage and  the celebrations of the 2018 Heritage Day will be observed under the theme “The year of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela: advancing transformation of South Africa’s heritage landscape”

South Africa is endowed with multi-faceted languages, cultural practices, genealogies and a biodiversity network and natural wonders that the world marvels at.

Heritage Day is an opportunity to reflect on the strength and wealth of South Africa’s Heritage and to chart forward a programme of transforming society and attaining social cohesion in modern day South Africa.

Acting President Mabuza will officiate at the renaming of the 75 Hope Street Municipal Building and unveil the Statue of the revered Griqua Leader Adam Kok III, ahead of the festivities to be held at the Riverview Stadium in Kokstad.
